Direct sunlight is harmful and acts as a Good (+3) attack resisted by a vampire’s Physique skill. This is inflicted every exchange for which the vampire remains in the sun. Sunlight filtered by clouds is much less harmful, but still inflicts an Average (+1) attack. If direct sunlight is blocked completely, such as during an eclipse or by use of substantial shade, attacks need not be made.
If a vampire is Taken Out by damage done by exposure to the sun, the vampire erupts into flames and burns to ash. Vampires cannot recover from death once burned in this way because the majority of their body is gone.
